80’s and Art Production in Turkey
Karşı Sanat Çalışmalar
April 8th – May 31st
The exhibition clearly aims to find answers through documents and artworks to multiple questions related to that decade when the democracy was lost after the 12 th September coup, freedom of speech and economic crisis shook the roots of the society and the people had to deal with the communication, media and consumption culture. Could art with its increasing possibilities of information influx and new technologies reveal the unsaid and unvoiced or generate the multiplicity, the insinuation and the heterogeneity?
During the exhibition 7th April to 31st May the public and the experts are invited to contribute to the exhibition with additional documents and knowledge, to be included in the book, which will be published thereafter. Address: İstiklal Caddesi, No 258, Kat 2, Elhamra Han Beyoğlu, İstanbul |
